For this project each person in the class researched a famous typographer, wrote an essay on that person, and designed three compositions that highlighted the letterforms in one of their typefaces. I chose Hermann Zapf's Palatino typefaces.
Once the essays and compositions were finished, we were divided into "type foundry" groups. Each group had to organize all 23 typefaces as well as a multiple page essay into a magazine-catalog (magalog). My group decided to create recipe cards. The cards would come in a different patterned box every other month and would be organized by color-coded type styles.
